Here for You to Provide Support & Understanding
Have you been considering whether or not you may be neurodivergent? Maybe you were diagnosed as a child but have not processed how this diagnosis could affect you as an adult. Maybe your children or other family have been diagnosed and you're reflecting on similarities. Perhaps you’ve built a community of online friendships with people who think, feel, and act like you, and their diagnoses have led you to recognize their symptoms in yourself.
If you’ve wondered about who you are, and how you fit into this world, I can help. As a therapist, and a late diagnosed adult myself, I offer support through the lens of someone that understands your struggles and recognizes the need for therapy to help navigate through a world that wasn’t built for us.
Deciding to attend therapy isn’t easy. It often culminates from hardships that have created isolation, and have contributed to symptoms such as anxiety, depression, traumatic stress, disordered relationships with food and our bodies, substance abuse issues, and chronic health conditions; including chronic pain and other chronic illnesses. I can help you build an understanding of your brain and body, to create a toolbox of skills to cope. Together, we'll tackle difficulties that stem from unsupported ADHD and/or Autism.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional, I utilize an eclectic style in therapy that is inclusive and trauma-informed. I am LGBTQIA+ allied and affirming of diverse gender expressions. I understand the socially-constructed nuances that contribute to women and people of color being underdiagnosed. Lastly, I recognize you as the expert in your own life, and use a collaborative approach to identify tools that are authentic to you.
When I am not seeing clients, you can find me trail running, cycling, or swimming. I love spending time outdoors in the PNW, or cozy by the fire reading fantasy or horror novels. My pets, including a big fluffy white cat, and my two Frenchies may join our sessions.
